Who are you, what do you want (and how much do you have to spend.)

Touch ChickenThis is what matters to marketers, companies, shops, websites.

You are what you buy. You’re defined by your activities, values and style. You have to fit somewhere.

Are you female? Are you 18-25? Are you a gamer? Are you married? Are you professional? Are you punk? Are you outdoorsy? Are you urban? Are you senior? Are you vegan? Are you blue collar? Are you glamorous? Are you artsy? Are you techy? Are you gullible? Do you have money?

If you understand you are being marketed to and you understand where you fit, then how do you decide what to buy?

That’s when you actually get to buy what you really want, as long as you can afford it somehow.

For some strange reason, this post reminds me of a memorable quote from Kindergarten Cop, namely “WHO IS YOUR DADDY, AND WHAT DOES HE DO??” By our fearless Governor. Sigh. Yes, I’m in Cali, but I’m from Boston, so I’m ok.
